Description | Galton encloses a letter from his friend George Croom Robertson, dated 28 April 1885, seeking permission to photograph a portrait of Hobbes hung over the entrance in the Royal Society, as he hopes to publish a volume on Hobbes life and works soon. Galton has spoken with [Herbert] Rix [Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society], and arranged that Robertson's photography needs will to not disrupt 'beyond unhooking the portrait'. |
