DescriptionInforms The Royal Society that the Courté International des Pords et Mesures has received the three metric weights and measures standards prepared for Great Britain in accordance with the Metric Convention of 20 May 1875. These are: a metre length marked on a bar of platinum-iridium, a metre length determined by the end of a platinum-iridium bar, and a kilogram made of the same. The Superintendent of weights and measures has been instructed to allow Council members of the Royal Society to inspect these items on request.
