DescriptionLetters sent to the Royal Society, generally on official business, and usually to Officers or Assistant Secretaries. The volume also contains a small number of draft and copy outgoing letters, written by Officers or Secretaries in correspondence.

The dates of letters from MC/17/301 onwards are estitmates and range between [insert dates]. A small portion of letters bears a day and month only, lacking the year. Previous work has been done and estimated years have been added to the physical record, in pencil. Addresses of authors are often not present.
Included are notes and letters without obvious authors and/or recipients, as well as fiscal calculations, copies of letters, reports, and extracts from appendicies of scientific works and other documents.
