Title | Letter from Thomas Wharton Jones, 35 George Street, Hanover Square, to the [Marquis of Northampton] President of the Royal Society and to the Council |
Date | 7 December 1847 |
Description | Criticising a report made by the Committee of Physiology on a paper 'On the Nerves of the Uterus'. Jones additionally opposes the Council's dismissal of this complaint and the subsequent reappointment of that Committee. Jones recalls a special general meeting called and reiterates his question whether the Committee should continue its work in such a manner. In his argument, Jones references the Committee of Physiology's award for Martin Barry in 1839 and reiterates the arguments from his paper on the uterus. Additionally, Jones includes a copy letter from [William] Sharpey, dated 16 February 1847 at 3 Alva Street, offering feedback on his paper.
