DescriptionRegarding work titled 'On the dangers to which Navigation is exposed by navigators neglecting to make the local attraction on ships board an element of calculations'. Erroneous calculations were made aboard a discovery ship under Captain Ross. The letter includes detailed figures and sketches of navigation compasses with a scale of 100 miles for two of the figures, and of 100 leagues for the third. Additionally includes a table for variations and differences in longitude and latitude.
