DescriptionIn response to a rejection of his paper by the Society, dated 18 October 1823. Forman refutes comments made in the rejection note and explains in detail his theory regarding the lengths of degrees at the poles, offering counter-arguments to Newtonian philosophers' theories. Forman's theories involve discussions on the elevation and rotation of fluid bodies. References Isaac Newton's law on gravity and Kepler's laws on planetary motion. Forman additionally refers to correspondence with Dr [Thomas] Young, as published the 'Philosophial Magazine' (March 1823).
