Title | Letter from Francis Higginson, 2 Marine Place, Dover, to S [Samuel] Hunter Christie, Secretary of the Royal Society, and to the President [the Earl of Rosse] and the Fellows |
Date | 16 March 1853 |
Description | Reiterating his stance against Christie's remarks and defending his choice of words in his initial letter, dated 24 February. Higginson laments the waste of public money for magnetic surveys and observations based on misinformation. He further describes his demonstration in 1835 of the causation of magnetic attraction to his Royal Highness, the Duke of Sussex.
