Higginson laments the waste of public money for magnetic surveys and observations based on misinformation. He further describes his demonstration in 1835 of the causation of magnetic attraction to his Royal Highness, the Duke of Sussex. Higginson requests further information from Christie on his deposited papers from 1835 in the manuscripts and letter books in the Society's archive.
