Title | Letter from Professor Marcel Florkin, to Professor Finch [Imperial College, London, S.W.7] |
Date | 7 November 1945 |
Description | Message from the Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine at the Universite de Liege. Professor Duesberg has informed Florkin that Finch was interested in the difficult situation of Florkin's laboratory, with a flying bomb having destroyed much of the apparatus, in particular biochemical pieces of apparatus. Items which most urgently need to be replaced include, an analytical balance, a PH meter, a Warburg apparatus, and published volumes of the 'Proceedings of the Nutrition Society'. This section of the letter has been annotated 'Show to Secretaries of the R.S. [Royal Society] GIF [G I Finch]'.
Also notes that Florkin's assistant Mr Leclerq will be leaving for London to work with Professor Buxton at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, with a special interest in insect biochemistry, and suggests that he should get in touch with Dr Fraenkel at the Imperial College with a view to possibly working in his laboratory. |
