Title | Letter from Philip Noel Baker, to Sir Henry Thomas Tizard [Royal Society] |
Date | 7 December 1945 |
Description | Response from the Foreign Office to Tizard's letter of 20 November concerning the German looting of research establishments and instrument factories in Holland. There are hopes of a general agreement between the British Government and other controlling powers in Germany, meanwhile interim measures for the restitution of property have been put into force in the British zone of Germany. The Netherlands government will need to directly contact American authorities to regain the Leyden Weiss magnet, and are invited to approach British control authorities to recover any property located in the British zone.
Baker notes that the supply of additional equipment to Netherlands laboratories is a matter for the Netherlands government. |
