TitleCopy letter from Sir Henry Thomas Tizard, to H M Garner, Ministry of Aircraft Production, Millbank, S.W.1
Date11 January 1946
DescriptionResponse to Garner's letter and memorandum of 10 December 1945 on the state of R.A.F [Royal Air Force] photography in 1945. Tizard emphasises that the D.S.R. was requested to prepare a memorandum on scientific organisation in the interpretation of air photography, and although some 'irrelevant' remarks were made at the committee, their terms of reference are simply 'to consider proposals for the use of aircraft and for assisting scientific research'.

Tizard apologises for Garner having been put to unneccessary effort, but does not that it would be useful for the committee to be informed about the what the organisation for interpretation of air photographs is, where it is centred, and how it is affected by peacetime reorganisation. Tizard asks that if the Air Ministry are better placed to respond that the letter be forwarded to them. Air Vice Marshal T M Williams is noted as the one representative of the Air Ministry on the committee.
