DescriptionThe majority of the letters in this Volume concern matters arising from Dr Charles Hutton's resignation as Foreign Secretary of the Society in 1784.

The Volume also contains correspondence from or concerning Robert Boyle, Isaac Newton, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz, Henry Oldenburg, Humphry Davy, Francis Beaufort and Sir Joseph Banks.
