| Description | The majority of the letters in this volume (MM/50-130) are unrelated items received by Walter White, Herbert Rix and Robert Harrison, in the course of their duties as Assistant Secretaries to the Royal Society in the late Nineteenth Century. This volume also includes letters sent to John William Strutt, Lord Rayleigh, Arthur W Rucker and Michael Foster, during their terms of office as Secretaries of the Royal Society.
Topics covered in those letters include: offers to the Royal Society of paintings and manuscripts for sale, submission of papers to the Society for possible publication in the Society's Journals and the payment of Fellowship subscriptions.
