TitleLetter from William Thomson, Largs, Ayrshire, to 'Dear Sir'
DateOctober [post-1868]
DescriptionThomson has received a letter from his correspondent upon his return from England. He would be glad if the writer would exhibit the smoke rings. The method of exhibition is Professor Tait's. Refers to the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Proceedings article 'On vortex atoms' (1867) and promises a more recent article from Glasgow. This is likely to be too mathematical for his correspondent's purpose.
