Description | Describing that his journey to the interior has had to be postponed because of the attack on the colony by the French in September 1794. Their plundering has deprived him of the necessary equipment for his journey, and without help from the African Association all his endeavours will be insufficient to carry out the plan. Gray also states that the 'Achilles' has arrived but the supplies brought by the ship are insufficient. |
