Title'Observations on Mr Mudge's Application to Parliament for a Reward for his Time-keepers, which, agreeably to the Act of Parliament of 14th of George III had been unanimously denied him by the Board of Longitude', by Joseph Banks
Date27 March 1793
DescriptionThomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude.

This pamphlet - written before Mudge's case was considered by a Parliamentary Committee - sets out this history of this case, and contrasts Mudge's award of £500 to the £1300 awarded to Mr Arnold. Banks states that if the Committee awards compensation to Mudge it would have to give more money to Arnold as well.

With manuscript draft of the pamphlet (4 sides).
