| Description | Thomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude.
This pamphlet - written before Mudge's case was considered by a Parliamentary Committee - sets out this history of this case, and contrasts Mudge's award of £500 to the £1300 awarded to Mr Arnold. Banks states that if the Committee awards compensation to Mudge it would have to give more money to Arnold as well.
