Thomson descibes in his letter how he has been "...trying to localize the origin of the Rontgen rays by finding how the leakage effects vary with distance from the tube and have got very distinct results". Thomson states his experiment shows that "the rays start from the place where the cathode rays strike against a solid obstacle". |
