Description | Bolzani updates Sabine regarding the establishment of a magnetical observatory in Kazan, and is hopeful that they will be able to have autographic instruments on the Kew pattern. Reference to their ‘Minster of Public Instruction’ and his interest in the ‘wants’ of the University of [Kazan]. Bolzani remarks on Mr [Adolph Theodor] Kupffer’s support. Bolzani refers to his personal affairs, his remarriage, the death of his daughter and the condition of his wife. Enquires to the cost of an instrument measuring magnetic inclination, and reference to [Humphrey] Lloyd’s deflector measuring the whole force. Bolzani asks Sabine the cost of an invariable pendulum and refers to pendulum experiments. |
