Description | Forchhammer informs Sabine his paper on seawater has been sent to England and discusses causes for the delay in its completion. Forchhammer refers to his professorship of geology and minerology, his superintendency of the Museum at the University of Copenhagen, work as Professor of Chemistry at the Polytechnical School and its Director, Secretary to the Royal Society of [Copenhagen]. Refers to receiving additional collection of seawater from Sir James [Clark] Ross, Admiral [Robert] FitzRoy and the Swedish Spitzbergen expedition. References the death of the King [Frederick VII]. Forchhammer will be unable to attend the next meeting of the British Association due to ‘the present state of’ their ‘political situation’. |
