Description | Magrath informs [Sabine] he is unable to visit him but asks him to keep his ‘boy Valentine up to the collar and kindly lead him on a knowledge of the various instrument’. Refers to Valentine being ‘old enough to learn anything’ and is ‘pleased with [Sabine]. Magrath remarks on Valentine liking ‘poor Mr [John] Welsh but not his mode of giving instruction’, Welsh’s ‘snappishness’ and ill health. Magrath expresses his displeasure at Valentines pay compared with Chambers. |
