Description | Kohl read Sabine’s address with ‘greatest interest’. Kohl expresses his wish to visit England to make use of the collections of oceanic observations at the Board of Trade and Hydrographical Bureau for his history of gulf stream research. Refers to being to directing the state library of [Bremen].
Kohl sends Sabine a copy of his ‘work on two old charts of the New World [America], executed at the command of Emperor Charles V’ and an accompanying memoir in which he expresses his belief that that chart [dated 1527] relates to Hernando Colon [Fernando Columbus, son of Christopher Columbus]. Kohl briefly describes the contents of his memoir regarding the charts and who the various copies have been sent to. |
