Description | Lassell informs Sabine the writer of the Athenaeum has correctly quoted him. At the time of his remarks to the Athenaeum, Lassell was aware of two constructions. Discusses Sabine’s opinion regarding the telescope. Remarks on the importance of the equatorial [telescope] meeting the “requirements of the Melbourne Committee”. Lassell comments the telescope is doing good work’ in his hands but suggests its ‘usefulness would be more extensive if it occupied the site of the Melbourne Observatory’. Refers to the search of ‘new nebulae’. |
