Description | Discussion regarding ‘the best mountain barometer’, [Alexander James] Adie’s standard portable, description of the instrument and details of the price. Adie also makes a barometer on Newman’s plan. Welsh prefers the standard portable instrument, and it is ‘fit for any purpose’. Discussion regarding repair to the instruments. Reference to Ms Pattison’s instruments. Jones has just received an order for the Paris Observatory.
Welsh is currently working at the constants for the Hobarton bars and discusses the deflections. Welsh asks Sabine if they will be required to provide any instruments Franklin expedition. |
