Description | Welsh informs Sabine that he will not be able to travel to Leeds in time for the close of the meeting and expects to reach Kew at the end of the week. Updates regarding Welsh’s ill health and his difficult journey. Welsh’s journey this year has not been as successful as last year due to ‘bad weather, indifferent health and a very difficult and barbarous country’. Welsh describes unable to reach certain points due to a lack of means and ill health. Welsh believes observations for Scotland are sufficient but cannot promise the same for North England, as he is unable to conduct anymore field work ‘this season’. Discussion regarding observations of the ‘passage of the inn’. Remarks on Dr [Humphrey] Lloyd’s force measure and dip circles Lloyd’s observations. |
