Description | Welsh refers to his ill health and his ‘feeble’ state. Welsh ‘generally’ agrees with Sabine regarding the establishment of the magnetic house. Welsh expresses his happiness at Sabine commending Mr [Frederick] Chambers work. Welsh is happy to learn of Dr [Pieter Adrian] Bergsma’s progress. Discussion regarding the scale of the declination and the quality of the instrument. The Fox’s circle has been sent to Woolwich. Welsh was happy to hear of good accounts of Captain Blakiston. Mr Fox the surgeon recommends Welsh should go home as soon as the weather permits, with Dr [Henry Bence] Jones in agreement. Comments on the weather in Falmouth. |
