Title | Copy letter from C R [Charles Richard] Weld, the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Lieut Col [Edward] Sabine |
Date | 12 November 1845 |
Description | Informs that the letter by Lieut. Col. Wilcox fowarded from [Edward] Sabine has been read. The observations contained have been compared with those from Sir John [William Frederick] Herschel in Lucknow [India] and the East India Company and find they agree with the Royal Society in having all the observations between June 1842 to May 1844. Explains the reason for Wilcox not hearing of the safe arrival of his letter as they arrived at the Royal Society via Herschel, who received it from the East India House. |
