DescriptionDirected by the Council of the Royal Society to answer the claim made by the Executors of the late Mr R B Bate. Explains that as Mr Francis Bailey, Chairman of the Excire Committee had business like habits, the lateness of the request for payment and the fact that no mention can be found of an agreement to pay Mr Bate for his services, the claim for £157. 16. 10. cannot be taken seriously.
