TitleCopy letter from C R [Charles Richard] Weld, the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to A J [Archibald John] Stephens
Date5 June 1860
DescriptionRegarding the subscription of Archibald John Stephens. Explains that the Barclays bank clark called here three times on 27 March, insisting the annual subscription had not been paid. This surprised Weld as the Society records showed Stephens had paid, but gave a receipt for £4 to the Clerk. Asks for Stephens to check his accounts and states the Society is prepared to refund him if it is found he has paid twice.
