Title | Copy letter from [Michael] Foster, Secretary of the Royal Society; to the Undersecretary, War Office [Albert Parker, Earl of Morley] |
Date | 19 January 1884 |
Description | Concerning the boring of the Nile Delta. States that although the results are disappointing, they are not without value. Suggests the project to be rounded up and discontinued. Also forwards the suggestion of the Council that it can provide an additional £200 to get better apparatus and employ Royal Engineers to work for Major Williams, if the Undersecretary thinks it advisable. Looks forward to receiving the samples. |
