Title | Letter from Joseph Barcroft, Glenveagh, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Barcroft; Joseph (1872-1947); British physiologist |
Date | 3 February [no year] |
Description | Barcroft notes the need for a physical explanation of the various equilibrium curves. He lists the three reactions relating to haemoglobin, blood oxyhaemoglobin, oxygen and carbon monoxide which have been studied with data published on the first two, adding comments. A.V. Hill has written something which he encloses [not present]. Hill disliked it and has not published the manuscript because the theory breaks down when confronted by the data from the second reaction. [John Scott] Haldane has told him that 'his boy' [presumably J.B.S. Haldane] has a suggestion, which he states. |
