TitleIncomplete letter from Charles James Buchanan Riddell, Woolwich to Humphrey Lloyd
Date12 March [1845]
DescriptionRiddell updates Lloyd about the description of Lloyd’s new instrument. Riddell notes that he has provided the best possible description he could. Mr [Samuel] Jones showed Riddell a description that Lloyd sent to him. However, Riddell is sending Lloyd the description he has written in the hopes Lloyd will be able to make any alterations he prefers. Riddell at first wanted to print the specification of Lloyd’s new instrument, but they appeared too detailed.

Discussion on the theodolite magnetometer and portable instruments being described as part of Riddell’s instructions.
