TitleLetter from Dr William H Wollaston at Buckingham Street, Fitzroy Square to Reverend William Buckland
Date12 July
DescriptionStates that the common care that is usually taken of Seals made up Steel seems to be sufficient for their protection, that he cannot say he should be disposed to make any effort to turn a workman from the way that experience seems to have shown to be the best. If he were compelled to [illegible] from ordinary material, he should imagine the harder kinds of Bronze or such other alloys as workmen call free (ie free from trughness) would be most eligible for having any work of the die-sinker executed with netness. Perhaps the Canon would choose Gun metal.
