DescriptionDonkin thanks Sabine for [Angelo] Secchi’s papers. Donkin agrees with Sabine regarding the results obtained relative to the true period of the regular solar diurnal variation. Donkin proposes that some ‘mode of action’ will be discovered in regard to the moon and sun. Discussion regarding the ordinary magnetic action at a distance in the case of the sun and moon. Refers to the magnetic moment of the earth, the sun as a permanent magnet, the suns action on the earth effecting the earths motion, and the force of translation.
