DescriptionThe letter is in Latin. Notes on the first page state that this is no 381 (this may refer to the number of an English translation), that this is a letter from [Philipp Jacob] Hartman[n], that it dates from 1697, that it was entered in L[etter] B[ook] [volume] 12 [page] 30 and that it appears in [Philosophical] Trans[actions] no 238.

On the last page of the letter it is dated 15 September 1697.

There is an appendix entitled 'Historia; et explicatio figurarum, Embryon quatuor sephmanarum, et placentam cotyledoniformem exhibentium'. This relates to the development of the embryo and placenta at four weeks.

There are four loose pages with diagrams.
