DescriptionRegarding the purchase of certain philosophical instruments by Mahemet [Muhammed] Ali of Egypt. Informs of the letter from Colonel Campbell to Lord Palmerston, of which a copy was forwarded to the Earl of Aberdeen, in which Mahemet Ali desires to purchase philosophical instruments selected by the Royal Society and to pay for any other expenses. The Royal Society also received a copy of a letter from Jonesoff to Col. Cambell ascertaining to the same. Asks for Aberdeen for repayments of the expenses of the courier. States the cost to Mahement Ali to be £309.11.
