DescriptionAcknowledges letter accompanying the Memoir of Federico Caboni titled 'Riflessioni sull origine del moto', to ask of the Royal Society's opinion. Replies that the Royal Society as a body does not give opinions, however, having observeed the paper, finds it is about metaphysics. This makes it unsuitable for publishing in the 'Philosophical Transactions' as the Society was established solely for the advancement of Natural Knowledge. Informs the memoir is at Somerset House, awaiting return delivery.
