TitleCopy letter from C R [Charles Richard] Weld, the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir [Henry] Ellis
Date30 May 1855
DescriptionPoints out a note of discrepancy between Mr Letts letter and what Henry Ellis had said. This is concerning the request to let Mr Letts to deliver the Fairchild Lecture this year. That Mr Letts has spent half the night writing up a sermon. Had the intention been to read out a sermon by the late Ellis [Henry Ellis's brother] himself, this could be allowed, but as Letts wrote his own discourse it cannot.
