DescriptionInforms that the West Hall and the adjoining Ante Room are now ready to be fitted with gas lighting, and the Office of Works needs the permission of the Treasury to commence the work. States the gas fittings will be for the benefit of the University of London as well as the other societies. Asks for the rooms over the Couch House to be used as residence for the Porter, as it is assumed the Lodge at the gate will be occupied by the Office of Works.
