Description | In reference to the letter from the Under Secretary of the Admiralty Mr Ball, regarding the Exploration Expedition under Palliser, assumes Labouchere is already aware of the resolution. Now sends the following. A copy of the memorandum regarding the Magnetic Observations, which has been given to Lieut Blackiston. A copy of directions for botanical collecting, which has been given to Eugène Bourgeau, the collector. Sir Roderick Murchison has already forwarded to the Colonial Office a copy of instruction for Geological Observations for [James] Hector [none of these enclosures are present]. The bills of the Expedition will be sent to the Colonial Department as soon as they are produced. |
