DescriptionInforms that the papers of Bishop [Samuel] Horsely, editor of Newton's works, have been submitted to the Royal Society, who have noticed they make reference to the 'Portsmouth papers', which have biographical notes on Newton's life. Asks for these paper to be sent temporarily to the Royal Society, so a committee can view and compare them with Sir [David] Brewer's work. Explains this will be a great service to the history of science and assures the papers will be greatly cared for.
