DescriptionExplains that as the letter was addressed to the Royal Geographical Society, it was received a week later. Before it can be given to the the Council to recommend an individual, asks for more details regarding the duties and responsibilities. States that of the Duke of Newcastle [Henry Pelham Fiennes Pelham-Clinton] feels it will be better to give the details in a face to face interview, the President [Benjamin Collins Brodie] will be happy to oblige. The President asks for General Edward Sabine, the Treasurer and Vice President to accompany him.
