States it it cannot go ahead with the present facilities and that it will not be expensive [to replca them]. Members of the Council will be requested to visit and explain the importance of the survey, most likely Sir John Lubbock and Major [Edward] Sabine. Informs that the survey has the recommendation of Major Sabine, Sir John Herchal, Prof. [George] Peacock, the Dean of Ely, the Physical Committee and the Council of the Royal Society. |
