DescriptionUpdates Leonard Courtney of the situation regarding the presentation of copies of the Challenger Reports to institutions. States there is a discrepancy between the list drafted by the Royal Society in January 1882 and the 2 lists sent in by the Stationary Office, which contains institutes the Royal Society 'hold themselves free of responsibility'. Requests a new list of Institutions for the approval of the Lords and at the recommendation of the Royal Society. States the reply was delayed due to the death of the President and the holiday period beginning soon after. [See MS/427/283] Advises Challenger minutes 22 November 1883 be consulted. [CMB/9/13]
