| Description | Concerning the establishment of a Geological Station at Granton, Scotland to study exhaustively the natural history of food fish. States that on a visit to Aberdeen and St. Andrews as a member of Lord Dalhousie's Commission, found Scottish fisherman to have erroneous beliefs about fish and refusal to use trawl nets. States that although Geological elements no doubt affect fish, there is no connection of the project to the Meteorological Council, who are unlikely to be interested. States that although Mr. [John] Murray is a zoologist on the Meteorological Council, it is not known whether any Zoologists will be present at the Station. Advises the Government to establish a Zoological Station instead. |
