TitleCopy letter from Warren de la Rue, Chairman of the Kew Committee; to [Thomas Henry] Huxley, President of the Royal Society
Date[July] 1885
DescriptionSends a request for the Royal Society to bring to the attention of H.M. Woods and Forrests regarding access to the Kew Observatory in Old Deer Park. Explains that access to the observatory is through Mr. Fuller's Yard, who, between October and May, has been locking the middle of the 3 gates. Although he has given a key to the Porter of the Observatory, it has meant staff working after dark have had to climb over the gate to enter and exit. Mr. Fuller refuses to grant keys to other staff or to listen to suggestions. [See MS/427/445]
