TitleLetter from Frederick Thomas Trouton, Melbreck, Tilford, near Farnham, to [Charles Vernon] Boys
Date12 October 1915
DescriptionHe is sending a suggested range-finder for aeroplanes to Boys rather than to the War Office Advisory Committee, trusting Boys' opinion rather than the committee's. His son. who is in the artillery, has been begging Troughton for a range-finder of use against aircraft. The range-finder suggested would allow the observer to 'sing out' continuously the distance to the aeroplane.
