The engraving is inscribed: "SIR ISAAC NEWTON G.M.Brighty del. J.Vanderbank pinxt., Pub.Augt.1.1817. by C.G.Dyer. Compton Stt. Soho. Romner sculp." The engraving has a facsimile signature.
