TitleLetter from S[tephen] P[eter] Rigaud, Oxford, to Francis Baily
Date29 December 1837
DescriptionRecalls that his children collected friends for a dance the previous day, which left him with no time for anything other than attend to their guests. Adds that the morning had brought more interruptions and as is he not a very ready writer, he has not been able to fulfill his promise, but the paper was now done and he sent it to Baily. Suspects there is an inaccuracy in a quotation, but he could not touch on it without seeing the book it came from itself, which he can only do this week as the Bodleian library had been closed for the Christmas holidays. Makes corrections to the paper. Asks Baily to point out any objections or amendments he might think of.
