TitleDraft letter from Michael Foster to B H
Date10 March 1884
DescriptionRefers to his own previous letter regarding an exceed in the estimate should it be found necessary to print a detailed statement of the observations for use of the International committee [see MS/756/34]. Believes that this will have to be done, but cannot be sure of the amount until after the congress to be held the following month in Vienna. Expects that the sum of £300 will suffice, but reiterates that it must be open to future correction, therefore submitting the sum of £500 to be added to the original proposal. Even though the committee is anxious to avoid unnecessary expenditure, it cannot define the exact eventual cost while the work is still in progress, but it can give an assurance that the final amount will not exceed the £2500 originally granted.
