DescriptionRefers to a despatch from Consul General Colnaghi (via Earl Granville) giving an account of the memorial in honour of Charles Darwin in Florence. The contents of the despatch were made known to the president and to the fellows of the Royal Society at their meeting and 'they highly appreciate such token of esteem in which the great man whom they have lately lost is held in the ancient city of Florence'. Written on paper from the Athenaeum Club, Pall Mall.
