TitleLetter from F[ielding] B[radford] Meek, Smithsonian Institutions, Washington City, to [Henry Bowman] Brady
Date10 March 1872
DescriptionDoes not believe any of the material at the Smithsonian from the Fusulina samples from the west may contain more minute foraminifera. Has contacted C A White, the State Geologist of Iowa, with requesting him to send on Fusulina specimens of that State, such as he may think will be most apt to contain these minute organisms. Dr White believes he has discovered Amphistegina in the carboniferous rocks of Iowa, but Meek thinks he is probably mistaken. As soon as Brady has received White's specimens he will send some Nebraska and Kansas material of the same age. Thanks Brady for papers he sent and adds that any publications of Brady's will be thankfully received. Discusses the different findings of Fusulina in the United States.
